null City streamlining this year’s patio permit process

May 21, 2020 -

The City is making it easier and faster for businesses that operate patios to obtain their patio permit for this year.

Recognizing the economic impact of the current pandemic on these businesses, CAO Lanie Hurdle has used her delegated authority to address challenges related to COVID-19 by waiving both the notice period and final Council approval normally required for new and expanded patio permits. Fees for all patio permits will also be waived in 2020. Council delegated this authority to CAO Hurdle at its March 24 meeting.

This streamlined process is effective immediately and will provide business owners a much faster turnaround while eliminating this cost to their business.

Businesses should continue to follow the normal process to obtain their permit through the City’s Engineering Services department, 613-546-4291 extension 3130 or Engineering@cityofkingston.ca.
