City to offer online Sustainability discussion on Earth Day
April 16, 2014 -
Interested in how the City is promoting sustainability in Kingston? As one of its Earth Day initiatives, the City will be holding an online discussion on Promoting Sustainability in Kingston next Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
"We know people have questions about the City's approach to sustainability. Since the first Earth Day in Canada was launched in this community in 1980, it seems appropriate that Kingstonians take this day to reflect on the environmental pillar of sustainability and discuss the tremendous strides we have taken towards our vision of Kingston as Canada's Most Sustainable City," says Daniel Shipp, Sustainable Initiatives Coordinator. He'll be the panelist for the hour-long online discussion, during which participants can submit questions to Shipp.
To participate, residents can tune into www.CityofKingston.ca/getinvolved starting at 5 p.m. (a direct link will also be available on the front of the City's website during the discussion). Submitted questions will be vetted by a moderator ahead of being posted and answered.
Residents are invited to explore these links ahead of the online discussion:
