City to Present 10-year Homelessness Plan

At upcoming Information Sessions, OrgCode Consulting will present the 10-year plan it prepared on behalf of the City to address homelessness in Kingston and the County of Frontenac.  City staff hired OrgCode as its consultant to develop the Homelessness Plan based on a series of public and service-provider consultations starting in 2012. 

"The Homelessness Plan identifies the priorities associated with homelessness and sets forth a course of action to address them," says Sheldon Laidman, Director of Housing.  He notes that the Plan looks at current programs and initiatives with an eye to how resources can be more effectively directed to where they are needed most.

The consultations and the resulting plan, help the City meet its obligations under Ontario's Long-Term Affordable Housing Strategy and The Housing Services Act.
