Clean-up From Two Major Snow Falls Continues
January 3, 2013
Two major winter storms — which hit within two days of each other — left a substantial amount of snow on most of City streets and sidewalks. All City streets should have now been plowed and attention has been directed to snow clean-up and snow removal operations. Sidewalk clearing operation are experiencing challenges due mainly to the quantity of snow. To deal with this volume of snow Public Works crews are using a combination of sidewalk V-plows and snow blowers. The City continues to focus on completing the clearing of sidewalks. Snow clean-up, removal and sidewalk operations will continue for at least another week (weather-permitting).
Residents are being asked to keep their vehicles off the street in compliance with winter parking bylaws aimed at making snow removal as efficient as possible. Also, we ask that residents do not place shoveled or plowed snow back onto the sidewalks to make it easier for crews to clear these sidewalks.
Concerns can be directed to Customer Service at 613-546-0000 and the Customer Service Representatives will prepare a notice that is forwarded directly to Public Works staff so that urgent matters can be addressed.
We appreciate your patient and support as staff continue to work diligently to clear the streets and sidewalks as soon as possible.
