null Come see proposed improvements to Shannon's Corners Park and softball diamond

March 28, 2017 -

Softball diamond improvements are included in the proposed changes to Shannon's Corners Park. On April 12 you will have the opportunity to view the conceptual plan and offer your feedback.

Located in Glenburnie, at Perth Road and Unity Road, Shannon's Corners Park is home to a softball diamond, playground, basketball court, pathway, open lawns and seating areas.

The proposed improvements to Shannon's Corners Park, include consideration of challenges with ball diamond use and the surrounding park and lands. The presentation will include discussion on:

  • Re-orientation of the softball diamond including grading, fencing and sodding
  • Sports field lighting upgrades
  • Landforms and tree planting

The City of Kingston is seeking your input on these improvements at a public meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at Fire Station #8 at 1485 Unity Rd. The presentation of the conceptual design will take place at 7 p.m. with a question and answer session to follow.

The City is also consulting on accessibility as it relates to the project under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, In accordance with Ontario Regulation 191/11.

Conceptual drawings will be posted on the City's website on April 11.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to provide comments on the Shannon's Corners Park softball diamond improvements, please contact Laurie Paquin  before May 1, 2017.
