Come to Kingston Area Recycling Centre open house April 28

April 23, 2019 -

Learn more about what is recyclable and what is garbage by taking a free tour of the Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday, April 28 at 196 Lappan's Lane.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how recyclables are sorted and prepared for market – and find out more about how you can help reach the goal of diverting 65 per cent of Kingston's household waste from landfill by 2025.

Gardeners: bring a shovel and container (max. 15 gallons – about the size of a blue box) to get free compost

Did you know recycling also helps combat climate change because it takes less energy and produces fewer greenhouse gases to make new items from recycled material?
