Commit to climate action: Clean Air Day, June 4

May 27, 2014 -

Next week is Environment Week – and next Wednesday, June 4, is Clean Air Day. That's the day the City celebrates its community-built Kingston Climate Action Plan.

A climate action is anything you – or any group you belong to – can do to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) or prepare to better face Kingston's changing climate.

Make every week environment week.

Plan to take climate action:

  • Any time: go to www.commuterchallenge.ca to sign-up to track your active commutes – one of the best ways to lower GHG emissions is to leave the car at home.
  • Starting June 4: go to www.CityofKingston.ca/climateaction to see actions you can take.
  • June 4: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., see the Climate Action Clothesline in Confederation Park. It offers climate action ideas from more than 500 student and resident artists.
  • June 5: watch for the Environment Week supplement in Kingston This Week to see the climate actions already underway in Kingston.

Kingston's climate is changing: we can all make a difference one action at a time.
