Community invited to shape the central Kingston growth strategy

The City is launching the Central Kingston Growth Strategy, which aims to create a policy and regulatory framework to guide infill and intensification in the central area of the city, and invites Kingstonians to share their experiences to help shape the strategy.
"We are looking forward to continuing the conversation about the future of our growing city and how we can create a framework to guide intensification and infill in central Kingston," says Paige Agnew, chief planner and director of planning, building and licensing services. "Join us to shape the Central Kingston Growth Strategy! The City's planning team wants to hear from you through the online survey and strategy launch open house."
Residents are encouraged to share their feedback through an online survey at www.CityofKingston.ca/GetInvolved until 4:30 pm on April 6.
Come to the strategy launch open house from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at Memorial Hall, City Hall, 216 Ontario St., to share your feedback on the challenges and opportunities for growth in central Kingston and learn more about the strategy. The event will feature a presentation and interactive stations with opportunities to provide input.
The study area for the strategy includes the residential areas of central Kingston except for the area that will be covered by the North King's Town Secondary Plan, the Kingston Provincial Campus Secondary Plan, the downtown core and the Princess Street corridor (including Williamsville Main Street). Children are welcome to attend the March 28 event. Kids' activity bags with coloring books, crayons and activities will be available.
