Consultation session to review options for closing Napier Street

April 20, 2017 -

A public session will look at proposed options for Napier Street, between Brock and Mack.

"Late last year, council asked City staff to examine the implications to traffic and local residents on closing this stretch of Napier Street," says Julie Salter-Keane, community projects manager.

Come to Winston Churchill School, 530 Earl St. from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8 to provide your input on the proposed options. The proposed options will be available for review online at www.CityofKingston.ca/Get-Involved on May 9. Submit your comments by Friday, May 12 to Julie Salter-Keane, community projects manager, at jsalter-keane@cityofkingston.ca or 613-546-4291, ext. 1163.

The portion of Napier Street under discussion runs between Churchill Park and 671 Brock St., a former school property. That property is under consideration to be redeveloped to include public parkland, affordable housing and private market housing. For details on 671 Brock St. see www.CityofKingston.ca/city-hall/projects-construction/671-brock-street.
