Council Meetings to be live-streamed online

November 5, 2013 -

The City Council live stream is now available directly from the City.

The City and TVCOGECO are excited to announce that TVCOGECO will begin live-streaming City Council meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 19, starting  at 7:30 p.m.

"Live-streaming Council meetings is a new and innovative way for Kingstonians to engage in the decisions and discussions happening around the horseshoe," said Mayor Mark Gerretsen.  "I am excited to build on our partnership with TVCOGECO and enhance the experience and engagement of residents."

TVCOGECO is piloting the live-webstreaming program in Kingston until June 2014, allowing more Kingstonians to watch City Council from the comfort of their homes.

"Webstreaming ensures Council meetings are as accessible as possible to invite greater participation in local government and enhance transparency and accountability," says John Bolognone, City Clerk, who expressed his hope that the pilot would be successful and TVCOGECO will continue to live-stream City Council meetings online in the future.
