Countryside residents: Watch mail for your voter cards
April 25, 2017 -
Residents of Countryside District and those who own property in Countryside should watch for their voter information notice to arrive in the mail in the next week or so.
"Your voting information notice, or voter card, helps make voting go smoothly. Bring it with you when you go to vote along with your voter identification," says John Bolognone, returning officer for the municipal by-election that will choose the new councillor for Countryside District.
There are many acceptable forms of identification including an Ontario Driver's Licence, Ontario Health Card, Ontario Photo Card or a cancelled personalized cheque.
He notes that the voter card lists when, where and how you can vote in the municipal by-election, including:
- Online voting period: 10 a.m. on May 6 to 8 p.m. on May 15.
- Advanced Voting Day: May 6 – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Final Voting Day: May 15 – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
"If you are expecting a voter information notice and do not receive one by April 28, please check online or come to City Hall to see if you are on the voters list. If we need to add you to the voting list, it's best to do so before Voting Day," says Janet Jaynes, assistant returning officer.
