Cultural Organizations Urged To Register Events For Culture Days 2013

April 3, 2013 -

Culture Days 2013 has opened early registration.  From September 27 to 29, 2013, Canadians across the country – and in Kingston – will wear their hearts on their sleeves and participate in the growing cultural phenomenon known as Culture Days. The City is encouraging Kingston artists, cultural organizations and groups to now register one or more activities online at www.culturedays.ca.

There is no fee to register. Just host a free participatory or interactive arts or cultural activity to offer to the public during the Culture Days weekend (September 27 to 29) – be it new or something that's already planned — register it at www.culturedays.ca.  Don't worry if all the details of the activity are incomplete at this stage, you can create a draft of your activity and tune it up later. The important thing is to register events and activities now. Registrants will benefit from a major national marketing and communications campaign including access to free customizable Culture Days materials to help promote your activity.

EARLY REGISTRANTS BENEFIT FROM SPRING PROMOTIONS

Culture Days offers those who register before April 30, the opportunity to be promoted in the Culture Days' national spring communications campaign and in press relations during the first National Congress on Culture. Early registrants play a key role in building on the exceptional momentum from the 2012 event and will benefit from these advantages:

  • Your name will appear in a Culture Days' National Press Release later this spring.
  • Your activity could be promoted nationally through social media and other digital communications platforms.

Since its inception in 2010, Culture Days has grown to boast thousands of individual artists, diverse cultural groups, organizations, municipalities, and festivals that come together nationally to catalyze and inspire greater participation in arts and culture. By featuring free, hands-on, interactive activities, the public is invited to the behind-the-scenes world of artists, creators, and historians. For more information on Culture Days, please visit www.culturedays.ca.
