Culture Days Weekend

Each year, millions of Canadians celebrate their love of culture across Canada during Culture Days! This weekend, Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, Kingston presents dozens of FREE activities during the 8th annual Culture Days. Culture Days features free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to discover the behind-the-scene world of artists and a myriad other creators at work in their community.

Each year, the City of Kingston takes on a lead role in organizing and promoting Culture Days locally and is very pleased this year to collaborate with partners that include the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, Kingston Arts Council, Kingston Community Health Centre, Kingston Frontenac Public Library and the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning.  Over the course of three days, residents are invited to explore their talents through pottery, music, dance, theatre and art and to sample food and participate in story-time.

In recognition of Canada's Sesquicentennial, Culture Days also features an opportunity to contribute to the creation of a community mosaic with the help of Canada 150 Mosaic. Ride Kingston Transit?  Don't be surprised to find local artists on your route as you travel through the city throughout the weekend.  Visit www.culturedays.ca for more information about what's happening and how to get involved.

More than 1600 free activities are registered to take place in 170 cities and towns across Ontario during Culture Days on Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1.
