Final version of Official Plan to be presented

February 3, 2017 -

Learn about the final revisions to the City of Kingston's Official Plan – the plan that helps shape our city –  at an upcoming meeting of the planning committee.

A comprehensive report on the final version of the five-year update of the Official Plan will be presented at the planning committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 216 Ontario St.

"The presentation will include an overview of the revisions made to complete the plan and the next steps in this project," says Greg Newman, manager, policy planning.

The final version of the Official Plan showing changes made between the fifth and final drafts is available on the City's website www.CityofKingston.ca/OPupdate.

The public is encouraged to attend the presentation of the comprehensive report, but should note that there will be no opportunity to offer verbal comments regarding this item as the public meeting component of the Official Plan update has been completed.

Those wishing to comment on the final version of the Official Plan are urged to do so in writing to John Bolognone, city clerk (jbolognone@cityofkingston.ca), before it goes to council for approval. If the planning committee supports the recommendation of staff, the bylaw that implements the Official Plan will be presented to council for approval on March 7.
