Lasalle Causeway—Overnight Road Closures

KINGSTON, Ontario, September 10, 2013 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians of overnight closures on the LaSalle Causeway taking place during weeknights until September 20, 2013, from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. The Causeway will remain open to emergency vehicles. Marine traffic will not be affected. The Causeway will be closed to pedestrians during this time.

These closures are required to accommodate a series of precise measurements of the lift bridge in various lift positions. Four additional rounds of measurements will be conducted over the next several months and will be announced in advance. The schedule may change due to inclement weather or logistical requirements.

Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.

Further information on the project schedule can be found on the LaSalle Causeway web page at http://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/ontario/lasalle-eng.html.
