Input wanted on draft designs for former Kingston Penitentiary and Portsmouth Olympic Harbour
November 3, 2016 -
Offer your input on four exploratory illustrations showing possibilities for the former Kingston Penitentiary and Portsmouth Olympic Harbour. Choose your favourite elements from four illustrations of the area and complete the survey at www.CityofKingston.ca/Portsmouth.
"We're using the exploratory illustrations that were developed from the recent design charrettes and focus groups to help residents select which features they prefer. We expect there will be some mixing and matching," says Julie Salter-Keane, community projects manager.
The brief online survey asks participants to have a look at the exploratory illustrations and choose the best approach to various aspects of the site, including heritage and culture, the marina, parks and road and pedestrian connections. The results of the survey will be used to help construct an emerging vision for this historic waterfront area.
"We'll come back in early 2017 to discuss the results of the evaluation the ideas and the emerging concept," says Salter-Keane.
