September 15, 2017 -

The Kingston Blooms awards were given out to the city's best gardeners last night at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club.

"Kingston gardeners add so much beauty and interest to our streetscapes. Their work is truly a joy to behold and part of what makes this city so livable. Kingston Blooms is a way to give them a big green-thumbs-up from the community," says Mayor Bryan Paterson.

Paterson presented the Mayor's Choice Award to Sharon Simms' garden. Fred Jones' garden won the Environmental Awareness Award offered by Utilities Kingston.

Don Richardson's garden was declared the winner of the People's Choice Award, which was selected through a vote on the City's website.
