January 8 Meeting to be Held on St. Lawrence College Campus
The scheduled meeting of Kingston City Council on Tuesday, January 8 will be hosted by St. Lawrence College, while Council Chambers continue to undergo technology upgrades.
"St. Lawrence College is a celebrated academic institution attracting thousands of students to our community each year," said Mayor Mark Gerretsen. "The students and administration at St. Lawrence College are very active in our community and council is excited to take our meeting to the student population."
This meeting, a first of its kind at St. Lawrence College, aids in the achievement of objectives outlined in the Town Gown Strategic Plan. This meeting will bring city residents to campus and help foster stronger relationships with Kingston's student population. City Council encourages residents to attend the meeting at St. Lawrence College. The meeting will be held in Davies Hall, Main Campus Building, 100 Portsmouth Avenue. The meeting will commence at its regular time of 7:30 p.m., a closed session of council will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Cogeco will broadcast the meeting on TVCOGECO, Cogeco cable channels 13 and 700 (HD), the following day, Wednesday January 9 at 2:00 p.m.
Way finding signage will be in place the evening of January 8 to assist in directing community members to the meeting location. This is the fourth of five meetings held outside of council chambers while upgrades are being made. To date council has been hosted by Queen's University, Canadian Forces Base Kingston, and will be hosted by the Royal Military College on January 22.
