null Kingston Fire & Rescue warns of smoke/CO alarm scam
December 6, 2018 -
Kingston Fire & Rescue is warning residents of an apparent scam involving a caller seeking to set up home visits to survey smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The caller may claim to be calling from the City of Kingston and is reportedly asking to schedule an appointment with the homeowner and may also ask for the age of the resident contacted.
Kingston Fire & Rescue is not conducting a survey of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Kingston Fire & Rescue does conduct an annual Wake UP Kingston campaign inviting homeowners to contact them if they wish to schedule a home inspection. The 2018 campaign ended a month ago.
