Kingston Transit resumes service

February 17, 2016 –

Today's snowstorm is affecting some City services:

KINGSTON TRANSIT UPDATE - 5:45 a.m.:  

Kingston Transit will resume all services today. Some delays are anticipated in residential areas.

Additional service changes: Tonight's council meeting is cancelled and has been rescheduled for tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. Housing and social services at 362 Montreal St. will close at 4:30 p.m. today. The Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC) at 192 Lappan's Lane will close at 4 p.m. today. Leisure (3:30-4:55 p.m.), Lane & Family Swims (7:30-9:25 p.m.) have been cancelled. The Grand Theatre has closed for the day. The Springer Market Square rink is closed
  • Kingston Transit is has suspended ALL local routes until further notice. Express service will continue to operate as per normal – Routes 501/502, 601/602, 701/702. Kingston Transit staff continues to monitor the situation. Kingston Transit hopes to reinstate local routes before the afternoon rush hour. Riders should stay tuned to the City's Twitter feed for up-to-date info.
  • A number of recreational programs have been cancelled, including swimming lessons, Little Blades Skating, Cycle Fit, Boot Camp, Fitness @ 5, Leisure Connections, Adult Volleyball, BLT fitness, TNT fitness. Please check www.CityofKingston.ca/recreation for cancellations ahead of heading out.
  • All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library are also closed.

Arenas remain open, but please check with your sports association to ensure your scheduled activity is still taking place.
