Kingston Transportation Master Plan Update

June 10, 2014 -

The current Kingston Transportation Master Plan (KTMP) outlines the City of Kingston's strategic direction for the development of transportation networks, programs and priorities up to the 2026 horizon year. One of the recommendations of the KTMP is to monitor and update the existing plan so that the City can add or modify priorities to accommodate transportation needs for the next 20 years.

Since the release of the KTMP in 2004, the City has updated their growth forecasts and there is a need to balance infrastructure needs with the financial resources of City. Many of the short- term recommendations from the existing KTMP have been implemented but many of the longer term improvement recommendations have yet to be initiated and will be subject to review as part of this study.

This study will focus on all aspects of transportation in the City including walking, cycling, transit and automobiles and will be undertaken in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000 as amended in 2007 and 2011) and includes opportunities for the public to attend an Open House and submit comments.

You are invited to attend the Public Open House scheduled for this study. Representatives of the City of Kingston and AECOM will be in attendance to answer questions about the project. The Open House will be held:

Monday, June 23, 2014
City Hall, 2nd Floor, Memorial Hall – 216 Ontario St.
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The public and stakeholders are invited to participate in this study. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record for this study. You are encouraged to provide your comments and/or questions to either of the following study team members:
