Kingstonfest to feature Climate Action Clothesline, Remarkable Recycler Station and Election Team

September 29, 2014 -

Come check out the City's Climate Action Clothesline, Remarkable Recycler Activity Station and the Election Team at Sustainable Kingston's Kingstonfest, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at St. Lawrence College, 100 Portsmouth Ave.

The City is one of many community partners offering information and activities that highlight initiatives that advance the Sustainable Kingston Plan – the focus of this free event.

See the Climate Action Clothesline

Hundreds of Kingston student artists produced the dramatic Climate Action Clothesline that portrays more than 500 ways to combat and mitigate the effects of climate change (see for climate action ideas).

This project supports both the Environmental Responsibility and the Cultural Vitality pillars of the Sustainable Kingston Plan.  The other two pillars are the Social Equity and Economic Health pillars. See to learn more about this plan aimed at making Kingston Canada's most sustainable city.

Become a Remarkable Recycler

Win a prize at the City's Remarkable Recycler Activity Station which challenges participants to sort their waste accurately and offers information on how to become a Remarkable Recycler.

Meet the Election Team

The City's Election Team will be on hand to answer all your questions about the upcoming municipal election.

The day will also feature many other interactive opportunities, local food, performances, music and art from a variety of community participants, including: Heirloom Seed Sanctuary; and the Kingston Area Seed System Initiative; GreenCity Initiatives; Hearthmakers Energy Cooperative; The Salamander Man; and the Seniors Association.
