Kites and carnival games come to Grass Creek Park for City’s Canada Day festivities

Bounce, play and swim all Canada Day long at Grass Creek Park! On Monday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., play your favourite carnival games, relax on the sandy beach, swim and enjoy free family fun with the City of Kingston.
All activities take place rain or shine (unless severe weather is expected) and residents are advised to check the forecast and dress accordingly. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair, hat, reusable water bottle and sunscreen!
- Kite Fest - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Birds of Prey Educational Show by Canadian Raptor Conservancy - 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Drumming circle by Ollin - 2 - 5 p.m.
- Carnival games
- Colouring mural
- Improbable Escapes
- Face painting & glitter tattoos
- Beach and sand sculptor
- Food vendors and ATM
- Utilities Kingston Water Buggy (bring your reusable water bottle)
Confederation Basin fireworks finale
An astounding fireworks display will mark the end of Canada Day celebrations at 10 p.m. at Confederation Basin. Weather-related updates for the timing of the fireworks will be posted on the City's social media channels and on the City's website.
Kingston Fire and Rescue encourages residents to enjoy the City's fireworks display at Confederation Basin instead of hosting their own. If you are celebrating with your own family fireworks show, please read the tips to help keep your celebration safe.
Getting to Grass Creek Park
Grass Creek Park is located at Located at 2991 Highway 2 East, Kingston. Vehicle and bicycle parking is available onsite.
Take the free shuttle
A free shuttle provided by McCoy Bus Service, will take you from 105 Queen St. (Staples) directly to Grass Creek Park. Shuttle service will be provided from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and buses will run continuously throughout the day. Please note the parking lot at 105 Queen St. is for Staples customers only. Find a nearby surface lot at CityofKingston.ca/Parking or plan your trip using the Kingston Transit Trip Planner at KingstonTransit.ca.

Accessible parking is available at Grass Creek Park. Speak to the attendants at the entrance upon arrival and they will direct you to the accessible parking lot.
