Larger airplanes coming to YGK
December 4, 2018 -
Travellers flying out of Kingston Airport (YGK) may notice a larger plane on the tarmac.
This month, Air Canada has scheduled Dash 8-400 planes to service nine flights out of the Kingston Airport. From January 12 to March 23, this aircraft will service one flight from YGK to Toronto Pearson each Saturday. This Bombardier plane includes more seats and larger overhead, carry-on luggage bins than the Dash 8-100 and Dash 8-300, which most frequently service the airport.
"Air Canada bringing in this larger plane signals a bump in customer demand," says Rick Reed, manager of Kingston Airport.
This news comes on the heels of the completion of the extension of the main north-south runway last week. "As efforts to modernize our airport continue, we look forward to more developments of this kind," adds Reed.
