If you are selected, there will be a costume fitting in Kingston a couple of weeks prior to filming.  Further details will be given out once you are booked.

In order for consideration, you must be eligible to work in Canada.

Your picture should be straight on with a natural expression (no smile) and not taken from a side-angle or from above, ideally in daylight or natural light.  The photo should be of your head and shoulders.  Women, we ask that you keep your makeup very natural and take off any piercings.  Please take the picture with your hair down and in front of your shoulders so we may see the length clearly.

This is a period piece, and we are restricted to the sizes of costumes available: Women – the ideal extra wears a dress size 8 and smaller; men – the ideal extra has a 42" chest and smaller and is no taller than 6'1."  Please list all of the following measurements in the email along with your photo attachment:

  • Women: no over-tweezed eyebrows; no nail polish, no visible tattoos (if you have a tattoo, advise where it is located); no piercings; hair at least past shoulder length, the longer the better; natural colours (no visible or streaky highlights).

ABOUT THE FILM:  The film is a haunting gothic horror story directed by Guillermo del Toro ("Pan's Labyrinth," "Hellboy" series, "Pacific Rim"), from a screenplay by Matthew Robbins, del Toro and Lucinda Coxon, starring Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland"), Tom Hiddleston ("The Avengers"), Jessica Chastain ("Mama"), Charlie Hunnam ("Pacific Rim") and Jim Beaver (TV's "Deadwood).  The film is produced by Legendary Pictures' Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni, as well as del Toro and producer Callum Greene.  Legendary Pictures' Jillian Share serves as the film's executive producer.

The film is the story of a young aspiring author (Wasikowska) who, in the aftermath of a family tragedy, is torn between love for her childhood friend (Hunnam) and the temptation of a mysterious outsider (Hiddleston).  Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to rural England to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.

"We scouted all over Ontario, and Kingston's Market Square is the perfect location for us to re-create an early, thriving, exciting 1900s streetscape," said producer Callum Greene. "Marry that with how the city of Kingston and the city's businesses and people have been incredibly supportive of the project, and it was a perfect match.  We can't wait to begin our work there!

The film will be released by Universal in IMAX on Friday, October 16, 2015.
