Limestone Analytics will go door-to-door to conduct broadband survey
July 22, 2019 -
The City of Kingston and Utilities Kingston want you to know that Limestone Analytics will go door-to-door between now and mid-August in its efforts to conduct a survey on residential Internet use and complete an Internet speed test.
Door-to-door activities will take place in the following areas: CFB Kingston, Gardiners/Meadowbrook, Henderson, Reddendale.
"This survey will give us a picture of Kingston's current experience of the Internet and help us identify how and where it can be improved – including both performance and cost components," says Kevin McCauley, Utilities Kingston's director of Networking.
City of Kingston and Utilities Kingston, in partnership with Queen's University and local research firm Limestone Analytics, are inviting residents to complete a survey on local broadband internet service. You can provide your input online, or at the door, if approached.
Findings from this survey will support future funding applications for broadband infrastructure to improve Internet service, coverage, performance and rates in rural and urban Kingston.
The broadband analytics survey, which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, will ask a range of questions on residents' current Internet package characteristics and performance.
Representatives will ask you to complete a speed test on your personal device using your home internet connection.
To thank residents for their time, participants will also be entered to win one of twenty $50 gift cards from Limestone Analytics.
Interested residents can complete the survey online.
Interested businesses are encouraged to participate in a similar online business survey. Businesses that operate out of a residence should complete the residential survey.
When going door to door, representatives from Limestone Analytics will be carrying Utilities Kingston contractor identification and residents are encouraged to ask to see it. They will provide full details about the research, who is involved and what the information collected will be used for.
