This weekend offers another great line-up of summer events in and around the city from the Sheep Dog Trials to the 1000 Islands Poker Run, and the Wolfe Island Music Festival, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Sheep Dog Trials
This year marks the 28th Anniversary of the Sheep Dog Trials in Kingston, taking place daily from Friday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, Aug. 9 at Grass Creek Park. Experience all the trials have to offer including Kingston Police K-9 demonstrations, Bowmanville Zoo Animal Encounters, Rideau River Dock Dogs and more. Get there for free by shuttle with three pick-up locations: Toys R Us parking lot, Kingston Memorial Centre, and the Marriott Hotel at Kings Crossing. 1000 Islands Poker Run
Kingston welcomes the Power Boating Canada 1000 Islands Poker Run Aug. 7 and 8 in downtown Kingston. This is the largest performance boating event in North America, attracting more than 100 of the most spectacular and exotic boats on the water. Free activities include live entertainment, boats on display in Confederation Basin and great views of the action on the water. Wolfe Island Music Festival
This weekend Wolfe Island welcomes back the annual Wolfe Island Music Festival with a great line-up of performers. Just a ferry ride from downtown Kingston, the island will come alive with music for the two-day festival. For more information visit www.wolfeislandmusicfestival.com
