null Mayor Encourages Community To Take The Commuter Challenge

May 29, 2014 -

This week Kingstonians are encouraged to participate in the third annual Commuter Challenge from June 1 to 7. This week-long challenge is designed to encourage active transportation across Canada, with local activities organized by KFL&A Public Health and the Kingston Coalition for Active Transportation (KCAT).

The Commuter Challenge encourages individuals and workplaces across the nation to explore alternative and active transportation options, such as; walking, biking, carpooling and public transit. Participants in the challenge register online to track daily commute information and calculate their impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Join Me

Please join me on a bike ride to celebrate Kingston's participation in the Commuter Challenge! On Monday, June 2 at 7:15 a.m. meet me at the Belle Park parking lot for a bike ride to Market Square. Upon our arrival at Market Square participants will enjoy a free Active Transportation breakfast sponsored by KFL&A Public Health and the Kingston Coalition for Active Transportation (KCAT).
