December 7, 2015 -

Mayor Bryan Paterson announced today the Lieutenant Governor's New Year's Levee will take place in Kingston on Friday, Jan. 1, joining the local annual tradition. Her Honour the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will join local elected officials and Kingstonians to celebrate the New Year in Canada's First Capital to mark the lead-up to the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.

"I look forward to welcoming the Lieutenant Governor to what will be a special occasion recognizing Kingston's 170th anniversary as a city in 2016 and our role as Canada's First Capital leading into the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017. I encourage all Kingstonians to join me in welcoming Her Honour to this special celebration showcasing our community."
