Message from the Mayor: Enjoy Thanksgiving Weekend

October 9, 2014 -

Wishing all Kingstonians a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving! This Monday, Oct. 13, is the Thanksgiving holiday and a time to gather with family and friends to celebrate and reflect on all that we have to be grateful for.

The Thanksgiving holiday will create some schedule changes to City services and municipal office hours. This includes Kingston Transit, which will run Monday on a Sunday schedule, with the exception of route 18 which will run on regular schedule. Garbage, Green Bin and recycling will not be collected on Monday, but collection will move to the day after your normal pick-up day. For a detailed list of services and offices affected by the holiday, please visit the City of Kingston website at www.cityofkingston.ca

This holiday weekend I hope you take advantage of all our City has to offer. Cycle your favorite trail, walk through one of our many beautiful parks, or visit a local farmers market. Make time for friends and family, get outside and be active, or give back to our community by volunteering. However you spend your holiday, have a great weekend!

Mark Gerretsen,
Mayor
