More toques on order for City’s Snow Angels
January 17, 2014 -
So many Snow Angels have been nominated by their grateful neighbours that the City has had to order more special toques. By the end of 2013, 178 residents had nominated 199 Snow Angels – people who voluntarily clear snow and ice from the sidewalks and driveways of their neighbours.
Snow Angel Catherine Weatherby, nominated by her neighbour Alison Ahara, is the winner of the first random draw for tickets to an upcoming Kingston Frontenacs hockey game.
"Needing more Snow Angels toques to give away is the best kind of problem to have. The nominations are so heart-warming. We have heard of whole families taking to the street to clear walkways," says Damon Wells, Director of Public Works. "And thanks to the generosity of the Kingston Frontenacs the City is also able to offer free tickets as monthly prizes."
So far this month has brought in another 66 nominations.
