Need funds for home repairs? Check out Kingston-Frontenac Renovates

Eligible homeowners in Kingston and County of Frontenac can get a grant of up to $3,500 to make their homes more accessible or an interest-free loan of up to $10,000 toward emergency home repairs under the Kingston-Frontenac Renovates program.
"Kingston-Frontenac Renovates is aimed at helping people make necessary repairs and upgrades that will help them remain safely and comfortably at home," says Sheldon Laidman, the City of Kingston's director of housing and social services.
Applications and eligibility criteria are available at www.CityofKingston.ca/Renovate. Those interested in applying should contact the housing and social services department at 362 Montreal St. or contact Ronda at 613-546-2695, ext. 4871.
Completed applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30.
Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, people with disabilities, seniors and family households with lower incomes – an income of $40,000 or less for a one-two person household or an income of up to $65,500 for households with five or more people.
Funds will be allocated on a priority basis to ensure that the households with the greatest need are served first. Applications received after June 30 will be placed on a waiting list in order of receipt of the application and determination of eligibility.
