null New King Street traffic signal for pedestrians crossing to/from Isabel Bader and J.K. Tett Centres
May 6, 2014 -
In partnership with Queen's University, the City is installing a new pedestrian-activated traffic signal on King Street West at the entrance to the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts and the J.K. Tett Centre, both set to be open for use by students and the public by this September.
Drop-in Information Session: May 15
Area residents have been invited to a drop-in information session about the installation of the new traffic signal co-hosted by the City and Queen's University from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 in Room 202 of Robert Sutherland Hall, 138 Union St.
Construction of the signal is expected to begin within the coming weeks and will be completed this summer. All efforts will be made to minimize traffic disruptions on King Street West during the construction, but some delays can be expected. The contractor will work outside of peak travel hours (rush hour) and is required to keep one lane of traffic open on King Street West at all times.
