New pedestrian crossovers will be activated on Sept. 7.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at 11 a.m.   

Where: Rideau Street at Raglan Road

Who: Mayor Bryan Paterson and City of Kingston staff.

What: Pedestrian crossover to be activated in front of Rideaucrest Home.

New legal crosswalks, known as pedestrian crossovers (or PXOs), will be activated on Sept. 7 at the following locations:

  1. Rideau Street in front of Rideaucrest Home
  2. King Street in front of Kingston General Hospital. 

The public is welcome to attend the grand opening of the City's first pedestrian crossover on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. on Rideau Street in front of Rideaucrest Home. Mayor Bryan Paterson will be in attendance.

Motorists and cyclists are being reminded that they must stop for pedestrians at the new pedestrian crossovers and remain stopped until the pedestrians have crossed the entire width of the road.
