Next phase of Williamsville project begins
June 19, 2014 -
Princess Street from Bath Road to Regent Street
Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians take note: the south lanes of Princess Street between Bath Road and Regent Street are being closed as the next phase of the Williamsville reconstruction project gets underway. The north lanes will remain open to two-way traffic, but delays should be expected.
The City, Utilities Kingston and Len Corcoran Excavating continue to work together to reconstruct Princess Street from Bath Road/Concession Street to Macdonnell Street as part of the Williamsville Main Street Project. To reduce disruption, the reconstruction is taking place in phases.
The Phase One excavation work is now complete between Macdonnell and Tower Streets and the intersection of Macdonnell and Princess Streets is now open.
Businesses and medical offices are open and will remain accessible during construction. Parking is available in the Gorsline Municipal Parking Lot (meter rates apply) accessible from Macdonnell Street between Princess and Concession Streets.
During the 2014 construction season, the City is completely rebuilding Princess Street between Macdonnell and Bath Road/Concession Street – and everything beneath it – from building front to building front to accommodate the revitalization and development of this prime under-used area.
Stay up-to-date on road work in Kingston: the City offers weekly traffic updates at www.CityofKingston.ca every Friday (also available on Twitter: @CityofKingston; Facebook: The City of Kingston; and Information Radio: 106.3 FM) and in the Tuesday, Kingston Whig-Standard.
