null No parking on streets overnight starting Dec. 1
November 29, 2017 -
Starting Friday, Dec. 1, parking is prohibited on all City streets from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. – and from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the streets that surround Kingston General Hospital. The overnight winter parking bylaw ensures that vehicles are kept off the streets so that snow plows can effectively respond to winter weather events.
"This bylaw forbidding overnight, on-street parking is meant to keep streets clear to allow for effective snowplowing and other overnight winter control efforts," says Ian Semple, manager, service development.
Vehicle-owners who disobey the bylaw will receive a fine of up to $30 and vehicles found in contravention of the bylaw are subject to a tow.
The parking prohibition remains in place until the end of March, 2018.
