Noise Exemptions - Queen's University Orientation Week Events

The Queen's Student Experience Office has applied for exemptions to the City of Kingston's Noise Control Bylaw for the following events:
"Saturday Night Activities", consisting of athletic activities, trivia, crafts, and music, on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, located at Nixon Field, University Avenue at Stuart Street, and at Summerhill, between Arch Street and Stuart Street. It is proposed that sound testing will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and that the event will take place from 8 p.m. to 11p.m.
"ResSoc Fair on West", consisting of food trucks, music, and games, on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, located at the parking lot and field at Duncan McArthur Hall/Jean Royce Hall, 511 Union Street West. It is proposed that sound testing will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and that the event take place from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The amplified noise associated with these events is not permitted at any time in residential areas, according to Section 4.2, under Schedule B of the City of Kingston's Noise Control Bylaw 2004-52.
Anyone wishing to object to these exemptions should deliver their concerns in writing or by email by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 to:

This matter will be considered during the regular Council Meeting that commences at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
