null Notice of Intention - Declare Surplus and Dispose of Municipal Property
April 24, 2019 -
Pursuant to the City's Public Notice Policy and the Disposition of Real Property Policy take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston intends to declare surplus and dispose of the following municipal property:
Lands affected: Property municipally addressed as 31 Weller Avenue to be transferred back to the rightful owners, St. Matthews United Church.
Explanatory note: A portion of the church property was within the limit of Weller Avenue. In 1991 an agreement was made to have this portion of land transferred to the City. However, the final deed registered on title included both the lands owned by the church and the lands within the Weller Avenue road allowance. An error in the legal description of the lands on the transfer resulted in the City becoming the registered owner of the whole parcel of land for which the St. Matthews United Church sits. In order to correct the title to the property, the City must complete a conveyance back to the St. Matthews United Church.
City Council will consider these matters on May 8, 2019 at 7:00 pm at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Kingston.
Anyone wishing to be heard regarding these matters should contact the Clerk's Office or provide written comments before 4:30 pm, May 3, 2019.
In the event that the matter is deferred, no further public notice will be given.
Dated at City of Kingston
this 24th day of April, 2019
John Bolognone, city clerk
