Notice of Intention to permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of municipal property

April 5, 2016 -

Pursuant to the City's Public Notice Policy and the Disposition of Real Property Policy take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston intends to permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of the following municipal property:

Lands affected:

A portion of the road allowance known as Duff Street on Registered Plan C-22 in the City of Kingston more particularly described as Parts 1to 3 on Reference Plan 13R-21130; and

A portion of the road allowance known as Fraser Street on Registered Plan C-22 in the City of Kingston more particularly described as Parts 16 to 23 on Reference Plan 13R-21130.

Explanatory note: These two unopened road allowances are the extensions of Duff and Fraser Street lying east of the limits of the Kingston Municipal Non-profit Housing Corporation property at 375 Patrick Street and west of Montreal Street.  Once closed, the two parcels are proposed for sale to a developer that is completing an assembly of lands abutting the unopened road allowances at 576 Montreal Street for redevelopment under the Brownfields Community Improvement Plan.

City Council will consider these matters on April 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Kingston.

Anyone wishing to be heard regarding these matters should contact the Clerk's Office or provide written comments before 4:30 p.m., April 15, 2016.

In the event that the matter is deferred, no further public notice will be given.
