Notice of Intention to permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of municipal property - Lots 17 and 18, Concession 5

September 18, 2018 -

Pursuant to the City's Public Notice Policy and the Disposition of Real Property Policy take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston intends to permanently close, declare surplus and dispose of the following municipal property:

Land affected: An unopened road allowance between Lots 17 and 18, Concession 5, Kingston, (formerly Township of Kingston) designated as Part 2 on Reference Plan 13R-1519, City of Kingston.

Explanatory note: The land affected divides the property known municipally as 1901 Sydenham Road.  The road allowance south of the subject property to Bur Brook Road was closed and conveyed to the respective abutting property owners in 2001and 2004. A by-law to permanently close the subject unopened road allowance is required before the City can declare it surplus and sell it to the abutting landowner at 1901 Sydenham Road.

City Council will consider these matters on October 2, 2018 at 7:30 pm at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Kingston.

Anyone wishing to be heard regarding these matters should contact the Clerk's Office or provide written comments before 4:30 pm, September 28, 2018.

In the event that the matter is deferred, no further public notice will be given.
