Notice of Nomination for Office - 2014 Municipal Election

Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the City of Kingston

Nominations in the City of Kingston for the offices of:

1 Mayor (Elected at Large)

12 Councillors (1 for each of the 12 Electoral Districts as follows)

  • District 1 - Countryside
  • District 2 - Loyalist-Cataraqui
  • District 3 - Collins-Bayridge
  • District 4 - Lakeside
  • District 5 - Portsmouth
  • District 6 - Trillium
  • District 7 - Kingscourt-Rideau
  • District 8 - Meadowbrook-Strathcona
  • District 9 - Williamsville
  • District 10 - Sydenham
  • District 11 - King's Town
  • District 12 - Pittsburgh

Five (5) English Language Public School Board Trustees
(Limestone District School Board)
One (1) Trustee for each of the following areas:

  • Countryside, Pittsburgh, and Frontenac Islands

  • Portsmouth, Trillium, and Meadowbrook-Strathcona
  • Williamsville and Sydenham

(Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board)
City of Kingston and Frontenac Islands (Elected at Large)

One (1) French Language Public School Board Trustee
(le Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario) – Geographic Region 2
All municipalities in the Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Frontenac, Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox and Addington (Elected at Large)

One (1) French Language Separate School Board Trustee
(le Conseil des écoles catholiques de langue française du Centre-Est) – Sector 1
All municipalities in the Counties of Hastings, Prince Edward; Lennox & Addington, and Frontenac (Elected at Large)

Further notices regarding school board representation will be published once final representation has been confirmed.

Nominations may be made by completing the prescribed form (Nomination Paper), in the office of the Clerk, City Hall, 216 Ontario St., Nominations must be accompanied by a completed Declaration of Qualifications in the prescribed form, and the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for Mayor and $100.00 for Councillor or School Board Trustee. The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque, money order, Debit or Credit (MasterCard, Visa and American Express).

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent between January 2, 2014 and September 11, 2014 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and on September 12, 2014 (Nomination Day) between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Take notice that the district boundaries for the 2014 Municipal Election have been changed.
