null Offer input on Belle Park Master Plan vision concepts
May 7, 2018 -
The City of Kingston wants your input on vision concepts for a master plan of Belle Park.
"Last year, we collected ideas for Belle Park from residents. Those have now been shaped into these draft concepts for the park which include elements of interest to golfers, Pickleball and rugby players and many others who enjoy the beauty of this waterfront park," says Adam McCluskey, manager, recreation facilities.
Offer your feedback and ideas:
- At a Get Involved open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at Belle Park, 731 Montreal St. Children are welcome to attend and activity bags with colouring books, crayons and activities will be available.
- By completing an online survey from 9 a.m. on May 25 to 4:30 p.m. June 8 at GetInvolved.CityofKingston.ca.
At the Get Involved open house on May 22, residents can learn more about the opportunities and challenges associated with developing a master plan for Belle Park, which is situated on a former landfill site on the shores of the Cataraqui River.
The public can offer input on the location of Belle Park programs, pedestrian circulation and access, pathway connections, clubhouse amenities and improvements and recreational activities. City staff is also consulting with indigenous groups on how to communicate the history and culture of the indigenous community at Belle Park.
Feedback will be used to hone the Belle Park Master Plan. Watch for opportunities in June to offer input on a refined concept. It is expected that the Belle Park Master Plan will be brought before council this fall.
