null Offer input on designs for Kingston East Community Centre

January 30, 2018 -

Attention east-enders: the City of Kingston will be holding an open house and running an online survey to gather feedback on two design concepts for the Kingston East Community Centre.

"We all want the Kingston East Community Centre to be a bustling hive of healthy activity in the east end when it opens. This is a great opportunity for everyone who is going to use this new community space to help shape it," says Adam McCluskey, manager, recreation facilities.

Programming and facility ideas for the new 20,000 square foot community centre at Highway 15 and Grenadier Drive were collected from residents in 2016 and have been incorporated into the draft designs, which include a full-sized gymnasium and meeting and program spaces.

To see and offer input on the two design concepts:

  • Come to the open house – drop in any time between 6 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 at La Salle Secondary School, 773 Highway 15.  Children are welcome to attend and activity bags with colouring books, crayons and activities will be available.
  • After Feb. 15, go to to see the designs and offer your input by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8.

Construction of the Kingston East Community Centre will begin later this year and is expected to be complete in 2020.
