Pay your interim property tax bills by February 28

Kingston's property owners should now have received their property tax bills in their mailboxes. The deadline for payment is Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Those who have not received their bills should contact customer service at 613-546-0000.
Owners with property assessed in both the capped (commercial, industrial and multi-residential) and uncapped (residential, farm and managed forest) property classes should receive two bills.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a ratepayer from the responsibility for payment nor relieve the liability of penalty for late payment. A penalty of 1.25 per cent is charged on unpaid instalments on the first day of default and interest of 1.25 per cent is charged on the first day of each month thereafter. Penalty and interest charges cannot be waived.
Feb. 28, 2018 is also the last day eligible property owners can apply for the City's tax rebate programs for 2018.
The City's tax relief programs include:
- a registered charity property tax rebate program, and
- a rebate for vacant units in commercial or industrial property.
