Volunteer tour guides are ready to share the history of Kingston's City Hall, a national historic site, through free tours starting today.
The tours begin in City Hall's Heritage Resource Centre and run until early October. Dates and hours of operation for 2018 City Hall tours are:
- May 22 through Sept. 1 - Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sept. 3 until Oct. 11 - Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
City Hall has more than 40 volunteer tour guides and ambassadors each year who share stories about the artifacts, historic figures and portraits housed inside City Hall. City Hall attractions include one of the finest collections of mayoral portraits in North America, with 61 newly restored portraits dating from the 1840s to 2001.
