null Project to connect regional emergency services funding announcement
July 13, 2015 -
When: 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14
Where: Kingston Police Headquarters, 705 Division St.
Who: Gord Brown, MP Leeds – Grenville and Rhéaume Chaput, Kingston Fire Chief
What: Gord Brown, on behalf of the Hon. Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, will announce federal funding through the Canadian Safety and Security Program for the Kingston Interoperability Safety and Security Project.
The Kingston Interoperability Safety and Security Project will allow radio and data sharing for its city and all mutual-aid partners by connecting the Police, EMS and Fire from Brockville, Bellville and Kingston dispatch. It will also connect Kingston's Emergency Operations Centre and support departments including utilities, transit and public works in emergency operations. This project will provide true situational awareness in real time to all partners. This automation will be used daily, and in natural or man-made terror conditions, to facilitate timely and effective operational and organizational decision-making, reduce response times, increase first responder safety and save lives.
