null Property Tax Bills Are In The Mail
June 17, 2013 -
Property-owners should now have their final bills for residential, farm, multi-residential, commercial and industrial property taxes. The deadline for payment is Friday, June 28.
Property taxes support municipal services and local school boards. An insert that accompanies the tax bill outlines how property tax dollars are spent by the City (see also www.CityofKingston.ca/tax).
To avoid late payment charges, the City must receive payments on or before the due date. A penalty of 1.25 per cent is charged on unpaid installments on the first day of default and interest of 1.25 per cent is charged on the first day of each month thereafter. Penalty and interest charges cannot be waived.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a ratepayer from the responsibility for payment nor relieve the liability of penalty for late payment. Please read your tax bill for other payment options.
If you have not received your tax bill in your mail box, or if you require additional information, please contact our customer call centre at 613-546-0000 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Use the Property Tax Assessment Lookup at www.CityofKingston.ca/assessment to see the property tax levy associated with your property.
