Public invited to Open House on Kingston Transportation Master Plan
June 16, 2014 -
See how the City plans to meet the needs of walkers, cyclists, transit users and motorists over the next 20 years at an upcoming public open house.
The Open House on the City's Kingston Transportation Master Plan (KTMP) update is set for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23 in Memorial Hall, City Hall, 216 Ontario St.
"The Kingston Transportation Master Plan speaks to how people use the city. It is regularly updated to reflect current and expected travel patterns to guide the building of infrastructure to accommodate all forms of transportation," says Deanna Green, Manager, Traffic Division.
Resident can view displays at the Open House and see the results of the City's recent KTMP survey, which asked Kingstonians questions about how they like to get around town. The survey received input from more than 800 respondents.
The KTMP was completed in 2004 and was last updated in 2009. It has since been further augmented by other transportation planning efforts, including:
- The Cycling and Pathways Study;
- The Kingston Transit Redevelopment Plan; and
- The Kingston Airport Study.
