Public invited to welcome Princess Anne to Kingston

The public is invited to welcome Her Royal Highness (HRH) The Princess Royal Princess Anne to Kingston at an upcoming Welcome Ceremony in Battery Park.
"It is a great privilege to welcome HRH The Princess Royal Princess Anne back to Kingston and have this opportunity to showcase our beautiful city and join in the celebration of military communications in Canada," says Mayor Mark Gerretsen. The Mayor will join dignitaries in welcoming HRH The Princess Royal and present a small gift on behalf of the community as a keepsake and token of appreciation for her visit to Kingston.
HRH The Princess Royal's visit to Kingston marks the 110th Anniversary of military communications with the Communications and Electronics (C&E) Branch and its predecessors of the Canadian Armed Forces.
WHAT: A Welcome Ceremony for HRH The Princess Royal Princess Anne
WHEN: 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24
WHERE: Battery Park (the foot of Earl Street)
WHO: HRH The Princess Royal Princess Anne (not available for interviews), military and government officials, Mayor Mark Gerretsen, members of Kingston City Council and the Communications and Electronics Honour Guard.
PARKING: Parking will be prohibited on site. Citizens are also reminded that parking in the surrounding area is very limited. Plan to get there by bus: www.CityofKingston.ca/tripplanner.
RAIN: The public Welcome Ceremony will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain.
ACCREDITATION: Media are asked to register with Cindie Ashton (contact information below) no later than Wednesday, Oct.23 to attend this public event or any private events where HRH will be in attendance.
