Public Meeting - Planning Committee

The City of Kingston Planning Committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Public Meetings

1163 Centennial Dr. – Marilyn Taylor – D09-011-2013, D12-014-2013, D14-058-2013

Applications for an official plan amendment, zoning by-law amendment and draft plan of subdivision. The Applicant is requesting permission to construct a mixed-use subdivision of seven developable blocks; one ‘L' shaped public road; a parkland block; open space area; and a stormwater management pond. The proposed development includes 40 stacked townhouse units; four high density residential buildings of varying heights (4-12 storeys); commercial buildings; and a mixed use residential/commercial building. Approximately 2,500 square  metres of commercial floor area is proposed and a total of 561 residential units (40 townhouse units and 521 apartment units).

360 and 370 Select Dr. – Braebury Development Corporation - D14-062-2013

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to allow for an exemption for the subject properties from the requirement to establish a planting strip for any non-residential properties abutting a residential use and to request that for zoning interpretation of parking requirements only, to treat all properties within the proposed zone as one parcel.

Casino Gaming Facilities

An Official Plan Amendment (OPA) is being proposed that will add policies that set out the land use framework regarding the potential development of a casino gaming facility in the City of Kingston. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is currently undertaking a competitive process to choose a private sector operator for the area including Kingston. The proposed OPA will provide land use policy guidance for any proponents contemplating locating a casino gaming facility in Kingston.

10 & 12 Collingwood St. – Santo Mazzeo – D14-050-2013

Application for Zoning By-Law Amendment to permit a third unit, the applicant is proposing to reconfigure the interior to re-establish the third unit within the existing structure.

Information regarding the above can be viewed at the Planning and Development Department, 1211 John Counter Blvd., during normal office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
